Jorge López Sotomayor has directed and produced projects in Chile and abroad, taking part in film productions for feature films such as Rapa Nui and Seven Years in Tibet, as well as working with National Geographic, the Travel Channel, and production companies from France, Spain, Germany, and the United States.

The Fragile Empire of Ice

JLS Producciones is currently producing its new Chilean feature film project, The Fragile Empire of Ice, a sequel to The Last Cabin Boy, originally conceived by Francisco Coloane. The film is proposed to be shot in Antarctica, featuring the participation of blue whales.

Our Productions

Jornada Antártica

In 2024, JLS Producciones was awarded the First Honorary Mention at the Córdoba International Documentary Film Festival in Spain.
This production, directed by Jorge López Sotomayor and produced and hosted by Paola Lertora Bavestrello, portrays various aspects of contemporary life in Antarctica. The director emphasized that this recognition will support the preparation of his upcoming Chilean feature film.
